Top Five Non-surgical Cosmetic Procedures Of This Year

Aging is a normal process of life. Some people are willing to accept it and age gracefully; others on the other hand, would do just about anything to postpone it. Women in particular, are obsessed with physical beauty. They want to look in their 40s like they did in their 20s, and they would go the extra mile to make that happen. Thanks to the internet and advanced technology, there currently are surgical and non-surgical procedures meant to enhance and preserve physical beauty. Here are five popular non-surgical cosmetic interventions currently in high demand.

1. Botox Injections

Women have been injecting Botox in their faces for over 20 years. This minimally invasive procedure is without a doubt the most common and appreciated non-surgical cosmetic intervention currently out there. The name of the procedure is based on the toxin that’s being injected into the skin – the botulinum toxin – which blocks nerve signals thus tightening the skin and preventing wrinkles from developing. Most women get Botox into their lips. The effects of this procedure make the lips seem fuller and more voluptuous. Botox is also used to lift the skin around the eye area and make the adult face appear younger-looking and more rejuvenated.

2. Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are cosmetic fillers common used for skin rejuvenation, wrinkle removal, lip augmentation and more. Similar to Botox, dermal fillers are known to be less dangerous and cheaper. The minimally invasive intervention has been used in the treatment of non surgical facelifts and nose jobs for years now. The substance used is usually hyaluronic acid. There’s also a second type of dermal filling procedure that uses fat taken from the patient’s body and introduced in areas where the skin lacks elasticity – usually in the face to make the complexion look younger and fresher.

3. Laser Hair Removal Procedure

Laser hair removal procedures have started to gain a lot of recognition due to their astounding effects. The intervention might be a little uncomfortable, but it’s not painful and the visible, long-lasting results have brought it international fame. Waxing, tweezing, shaving the hair from your body is often an excruciating process; the effects are temporary and in a month or so you’ll have to do it all over again.

Laser hair removal claims to provide permanent, or at least semi-permanent, results after just 5-6 sessions. Basically, the procedure involves using a laser beam on hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles thus stopping them from growing back.

4. Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a skin scrubbing cosmetic procedure that involves removing dead skin and impurities from the face. The surface of the complexion will look smoother and softer, and the skin will tighten and appear several years younger. The procedure is commonly known as an “instant facelift” and it is aimed at mature women over 30. Microdermabrasion cosmetic interventions are not painful, and visible results will appear immediately. If you have skin imperfection, sun-damaged skin, fine lines or other blemishes, then you should definitely consider a Microdermabrasion.

5. Cryolipolysis

Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive body sculpting cosmetic procedure that cools adipose tissue by inducing lypolisis (fat cell break down). Basically, the extra fat in your body is reduced through “freezing”. The intervention is performed under controlled conditions, so the patient won’t experience any physical pain. The fat cells stored under the subcutaneous layer are extremely vulnerable to cold. That being said, a cryolipolysis procedure involves exposure to cold thus killing fat cells and sculpting the body.

The effects of the intervention are gradual. The affected fat cells will need a few weeks to digest. The patient should be aware of this fact prior to choosing Cryolipolysis to lose weight. But then again, the intervention is quite effective and most women are pleased with the results. Cryolipolysis induces selective reduction of the fat cells, so you won’t have to worry that the overlaying skin will be affected.
